Bikini Wearing Necessities

Well it’s June and that means it’s time to dust off your bikini. Here are my lazy tips for looking amazing in your teeny weeny bikini.

Lazy Bikini Wearing Necessities:

What to Wear:

A Tan - A tan is great for hiding flaws like cellulite. A nice bronze can also aid in covering up the fact that you skipped the gym for the past month. So go fake and bake or grab a fake tanner.

A Smile - Nothing in this world is more effective at making you look amazing and more beautiful than a smile. A smile can melt hearts and win wars. Smile on!

The Perfect Suit - Finding the right suit for your body is key.

Suggestion Number 1: Buy a suit that is a size too big. I find women have trouble buying the next size up. The next size up will actually help to slim your body. If you wear your normal size your “imperfections” will be highlighted. Reality is no one but you will know what size you are wearing.

Suggestion Number 2: Go Brazilian! There is a reason why Brazilian women are so hot. Find the right Brazilian bottom for you. For me, there are a hundred things I do not like about regular bikini bottoms. One, your tan line looks like you’ve been wearing a diaper. Two, this particular bikini bottom is not flattering to your derriere. There is a Brazilian bottom that will flatter you, go out there and find it.

Simple Moves to Do:

Here are three moves you can do to help shape and tone your body. You will need a set of dumb bells and stability ball or bench.

Chest Fly - Lifts Breast, Tones Arms and Shoulders. I prefer using the stability ball for this exercise with 5 lb. to 10 lb. dumb bells. Lie on stability ball/bench/floor, hold weights over the chest with the palms facing each other. Keeping the elbows slightly bent, lower the arms out to the sides and down until they're level with the chest. Keep the elbows in a fixed position and avoid lowering the weights too low. Squeeze chest to bring the arms back up as though you're hugging a tree. Do 8 to 12 reps, rest for 30 seconds and repeat for 1 or 2 sets.

Sitting Squat - Tones Butt and Legs. Stand in front of a chair/bench/stability ball reach back with buttocks as if you are about to sit down. Hands should be at chest level to keep balance while you are sitting. The moment your butt touches the chair get back up again. Arms should move to your side while standing. Do 12-20 reps, rest for 30 seconds and repeat.

Plank - Tones Arms and Core. Lie down on your stomach with hands under your shoulders. Tuck toes, keep abs tight and lift with arms until at 90 degrees. Keep forearms flat on the ground, head and neck in line with spine and abs tight to support your back. Hold for 30 seconds or for as long as you can.

What to Eat:

Skip to the morning of the beach/pool/back yard bbq, it’s a race to look and feel your best. So what do you eat to make sure your tummy stays as flat as possible? Here are my suggestions on what to eat before you leave and a few suggestions on mid-afternoon snacks.

Oatmeal - I prefer steal-cut oats made with almond milk. But instant oatmeal will work at well. Oatmeal has protein and fiber to keep you feeling fuller longer with out expanding your stomach to great lengths.

Fruit - I suggest watermelon, apples, oranges and any berries like blueberries, strawberries. Eat an orange before you leave. Take a to-go container with mixed berries and watermelon. Save the apple for the end of your meal to help freshen your breathe.

Eggs - The incredible edible egg! Eggs a great source of protein and will also make you feel fuller longer. Try to stay away from fried eggs, I prefer hard-boiled but everyone has a favorite way to make an egg. You can boil a few eggs for breakfast and any extra take with you in a plastic bag with pepper. Great afternoon snack!

Unsalted Nuts - Salt is a girls worst nightmare for looking good in a bikini. Sure salt is tasty but when you’re showing 90% of your body the bloating factor trumps salt. On the plus side nuts like walnuts, pistachios and almonds make you feel fuller longer and keep your stomach flat.

Enjoy yourself this Spring/Summer season and be safe. Cheers!
