April is a transition month. The season has changed to spring. We are no longer in winter, although some days certainly feel harsh with no end in sight. April is a great month to dig deeper inside ourselves and discover what we are made of. I have dubbed April as the month of “Transformation”. I know we’re off to a late start but no time like the present. It’s time to dust off your sneakers and air out spandex shorts because you need to choose just one new thing to start this month and transform yourself. Stick with it and I bet you won’t even recognize yourself come May!

Examples: Just chose one. Don’t overload yourself. Change has a ripple effect.

Start doing Yoga or Pilates for 20 minutes a day

Start Meditating for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes at night

Start eating more fruits and veggies

Start a new diet- Such as, one with no cheat days, just three cheat meals a week

Start to train for a half marathon

Start walking for 30 minutes everyday

Start Reading - It is my experience people don’t read as much as they used to. Pick up a new book and finish it. Try to read at least one book a week. Don’t worry if you only get through a 100 pages in a month. At least you’re doing something productive and new.

Start Volunteering - We all have gifts, it’s time to share them. Just an hour a week can transform your attitude.

Start saying “I love you” - Only say it if you mean it. If you mean it say it all the time to whomever.

Start being positive - When something negative happens to you, flip the switch. If you lost your job, that’s ok because now you can do what you’ve always wanted to do. If you’ve gained five pounds over the weekend, that’s ok because today is a new day and lets be honest you look good with those extra few pounds. If you’ve just been dumped by your significant other, that’s fine, cry the tears you need to cry and be honest with yourself, there is someone better for you.

May’s theme is “Outside”. I will post the tools you need for the month of May at the end of April. Also, since we're jumping ahead here, I will set the ground for June as well.
